Once part of the Town of South Denver, Cory-Merrill was among a few neighborhoods that was founded to spite the saloon flow over seeping out of Denver City. Named after the schools in the area, Cory-Merrill has a unique and distinguishable architectural history.
Architect and developer Les Tremblay bought up property around the schools and began building renowned single story homes as a plan for the returning war vets known as “Les Tremblay small houses.” As later they were too small for families, many of the houses were scraped and rebuilt. Other neighborhood architecture are Ranches, Tudors, Pop-Tops and large Contemporary homes.
