Washington Park Neighborhood Highlights

By 1886 Denver’s development and population had grown enough for Washington Park neighborhood to become Denver’s first city suburb which established itself around the 162 acre park.

The boathouse pavilion, two lakes, tennis courts, 2.6 miles jogging loop, lawn bowling greens, horseshoe court, soccer fields, basketball court and the colorful flower beds along Downing Street are only a few things that make Wash Park not only the busiest recreational center in Denver but also the most popular.

Few neighborhoods in Denver are as centrally located as Wash Park and have such easy access to I-25, the Light-Rail, and other convenient commuting options.

In addition, well manicured properties, beautifully tree-lined streets and diverse architecture such as bungalows, duplexes, “pop-tops” and some high rises make this neighborhood a high-demand area.

Far enough from the city but with the ease of central location, Old South Gaylord St. is the popular block for neighbors to stroll and enjoy over 60 businesses. From shopping and dining to yoga and doggie day care, everyone will enjoy the charm of this quiet neighborhood life.

Young families, professionals and retirees will find Wash Park is a perfect place to call home.
